Delete your GPDO account

Deletion is a real delete, not a hidden flag. This page explains exactly what goes, what survives and how to ask for it — including if you have already uninstalled the app.

From inside the app

  • Open the Profile tab.
  • Tap the settings icon in the top corner.
  • Scroll to Delete account, at the bottom of the list.
  • Confirm. The request is queued immediately and runs within minutes.

You are signed out as soon as the request is accepted. There is no cooling-off period and no way to undo it, so do not do this to take a break — log out instead.

Without the app

If you have already uninstalled GPDO, or you cannot sign in, email office@gpdo.app from the address your account uses with the subject Delete my account. Sending from the account address is how we verify it is you; we will not act on a request from a different address without another way of confirming.

We run the erasure without undue delay, and in any event within one month of a verified request — in practice, the same working day.

What is deleted

All of it is a hard delete from the live systems, not an archive:

  • Your login — the Firebase authentication account, including the password.
  • Your profile: name, @username, email, date of birth, home base.
  • Your profile picture and every photo and video you posted or sent in a chat, removed from file storage.
  • Your posts, reels, comments and reel comments.
  • Your likes, your follows in both directions, and your block list.
  • Your chat messages.
  • Your devices and push tokens, so notifications stop.
  • Your notifications, and your name and photo scrubbed out of notifications other people had already received.

What survives, and why

  • Content other people wrote that refers to you. Their messages in a group chat you were in belong to them and stay. Comments under your own posts and comments are the exception: they are deleted with them. Anything that still has to point at an account is repointed at an anonymous "Deleted User" — your name and picture are gone from it.
  • Games you organised or joined. They stay for the other players, with “Deleted User” in your place, and are deleted 90 days after the game ends, like every game.
  • Photos you added to a pitch listing. They stay on the listing so it remains complete, no longer credited to you (Terms of Use, clause 5.5). If one shows you, write to us and we remove it.
  • The database provider's restore history. It sits outside the erasure job by design, is never used to bring a deleted account back, and is overwritten within 6 hours.
  • Server logs, which are kept for at most 31 days and may contain technical identifiers such as your account id.
  • Records we are required to keep, for example a moderation decision or a report someone filed about your content, kept in a form that no longer identifies you.

Other options first

You want a break
Log out. Nothing is deleted and everything is there when you come back.
You want to be less visible
Profile → Settings → Privacy & Security has a Private Profile switch, and your full name stays hidden from other people unless you turn on Show my full name.
You want someone to stop contacting you
Block them. It is mutual, silent and immediate — see trust & privacy.
You want a copy of your data first
Ask at office@gpdo.app before deleting. Once the erasure has run there is nothing left to export.
